RediStar

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.

The project "RediStar - Strengthening regular structures of start-up support in a diversity-sensitive manner" addresses the many barriers that women with a migration history (FmM) face in the transition to self-employment. The aim is to improve accessibility to public start-up support services through gender- and diversity-sensitive approaches. FmM often face multiple disadvantages due to gender and migration experience, among other things. RediStar combines scientific findings with a practical emphasis / orientation in order to break down systematic barriers and develop innovative solutions.

RediStar combines scientific research, implemented by the SO.CON and NIERS institutes, with a practical emphasis / orientation by our project partner Migrafrica gGmbH and relies on close cooperation between MO and öRS. The project approach comprises four
    central phases:

    1. analysis:

    • Systematic survey of the status quo of start-up support in the cities of Cologne, Krefeld and Mönchengladbach.
    • Determination of the role of MOs in the process of start-up support.
    • Investigation of the resources of the FmM by SO.CON and NIERS.
    • Systematic literature analysis on intersectionality, women, migration, start-ups, adult education and öRS by SO.CON and NIERS.

    2. conceptualization:

    • Development of innovative training concepts: "Train the Trainer" programs for öRS and qualification offers for start-up pilots for MO based on the analyses in the network.

    3. implementation:

    • Organization and implementation of workshops for öRS and MO to strengthen competences and cooperation through Migrafrica.
    • Iterative further development of the training and qualification offers in the network.

    4. synthesis:

    • Scientific monitoring and evaluation of the training formats to measure effectiveness by SO.CON and NIERS.
    • Establishment of the cooperatively developed transferable concept as a guideline for other ÖRS and MO.
