No boredom during the autumn holidays

The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is opening its doors for the autumn holiday campus from 13 to 24 October 2025. A varied programme of workshops on design, web development, programming and technology awaits participants at the Krefeld and Mönchengladbach campuses. The programme is aimed at pupils from year 7 to senior school.

The holiday campus invites young people to gain initial insights into various fields of study, discover their own skills and immerse themselves in the world of a university. Participation is free of charge.

In Krefeld, the "Coding@HSNR" programme starts from 13 to 16 October 2025 (9 am to 3 pm) at Krefeld South Campus. Here, pupils will learn how to use programming languages such as Python, C or shell scripting through practical projects. In addition to programming, participants can look forward to a varied supporting programme with topics from the field of artificial intelligence and the popular hacking game "Hack-me-if-you-can".

At the same time, the "CodeCamp" will take place from 14 to 17 October 2025 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at the Mönchengladbach campus. The focus is on web development: Participants can develop their first own games and web apps in interactive workshops and learn the foundation course of programming in a fun way.

On 23 and 24 October 2025 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), the Faculty of Design at the Krefeld West campus is offering a special format for pupils in secondary school (from year 11) in the form of the "designlab". In the two-day workshop, they gain a practical orientation into the faculty's creative degree programmes and can implement their first design projects themselves.
