Forum banking & Finance: The power of the convertible bond - strategy meets capital structure

The Hochschule Niederrhein's (HSNR) "Banking & Finance" forum invites all interested parties to its next expenditure on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. Starting at 6 p.m. in the main auditorium (Webschulstraße 41-43, Mönchengladbach), the focus will be on the topic of "convertible bonds".

Convertible bonds are an extremely flexible financing and investment instrument for both issuers of securities and investors. This hybrid form of financing combines the characteristics of a corporate bond with the option of converting the investment into shares in the issuer. This flexibility, which offers advantages for both issuers and investors, is one of the reasons for the growing importance of convertible bonds. In 2024, convertible bonds worth around USD 113 billion were issued worldwide. Convertible bonds with a global volume of around USD 780 billion are currently in circulation.

The forum welcomes Patrick Kindler as an expert. He is Vice President - Structured Equity Solutions in the Equity Capital Markets division at the US investment bank Jefferies in Frankfurt am Main and will introduce participants to convertible bonds from the perspective of the issuer.

The event is organised by Dr Bernhard Müller, Professor of General Business Administration with a specialisation in Finance at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at HSNR. Admission is free of charge. External guests are requested to register by e-mail at forum_bankingandfinance(at)hs-niederrhein.de.
