MG ZIEHT AN is one of the leading European recruiting fairs for young textile professionals and offers a comprehensive programme of specialist lectures, workshops and networking formats along the entire textile value chain every two years in Mönchengladbach - organised by the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology in cooperation with the Mönchengladbach Economic Development Agency and supported by the German Textile and Fashion Industry Association.

MG OPEN SPACES is an interdisciplinary exchange platform and conference method that has been held every two years at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences since 2012 and, through the active participation of science, industry and students, addresses innovative topics in textile and clothing research, promotes knowledge transfer and opens up new perspectives across disciplinary boundaries.

Under the motto "Change", students from the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences presented their design creations at the Federal Press Ball at the Hotel Adlon in Berlin on 29 November 2019 - a special appearance that resulted from the successful participation in the PolitFashion Night and was made possible by the convincing interplay of creativity, professional excellence and network partnerships with the Gesamtverband textil+mode and Bundespresseball GmbH.

The Aachen-Dresden-Denkendorf International Textile Conference, one of the most important textile conferences in Europe with over 700 participants, has been jointly organised by leading textile research institutes from Aachen, Dresden and, since 2016, Denkendorf since 2007 and takes place annually at one of the three locations - supplemented by the annual German Textile Colloquium held in spring with a changing thematic focus.

The Dornbirn-GFC, the annual manmade fibre conference organised by the Austrian Manmade Fibres Institute, is regarded as the leading international innovation platform for the fibre, textile and nonwovens industry and brings together experts from over 30 countries to present and discuss current developments, new fields of application and technological trends from research and industry.

The Wilhelm Lorch Foundation of the TextilWirtschaft publishing house promotes innovative contributions to the textile industry through awards for theses, research projects and educational institutions - the Department of Textile and Clothing Technology at Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences regularly participates with a wide range of topics from technology, design, business and sustainability.
